Stanrose® Hyrocarbon Remover

Stanrose® Hydrocarbon Remover cleans is a multipurpose neutral cleaner to remove vegetable and animal oils and fats from zinc-silicate coated tanks. "Stanrose® Hydrocarbon Remover" Cleans removes remaining hydrocarbons from any tank surface after carrying light to moderate cargoes or after cleaning with solvent based degreasers.

Recommended Uses

First of all flush the system with cold water to prevent evaporation rates and polymerization then the most economical method of using " Stanrose® Hydrocarbon Remover " is by direct injection followed by re-circulation washing, using tank cleaning machines.

Method of Application

Spraying Method : Using " Stanrose® Hydrocarbon Remover " as delivered in drums, spray onto areas where residue remains following rough washing leave for 10-45 minutes (but do not allow to dry), then butterworth at maximum pressure and warm water 60°C for at least 3 hours, checking that there is no foam remaining in the final stages. Inspects tank(s) and if desired result has been achieved fresh water rinse and dry.

Injection Method : not applicable.
Re-circulation Method : Fill tank with fresh water and heat up to warm 50o
C . IF a drop line is available on the tank line
system, then start to circulate the water and add the required amount of Caustic flakes and " Stanrose® Hydrocarbon Remover " to make a 2.5% solution. A stronger solution can be made, but be advised that too much caustic and too high temperature will result in white powder all over the tank. Under normal circumstances, between 2.5% and 4.5% will be sufficient strength. If there is no drop line, then lower butterworth hoses into the tank from the pump stack header without machines attached and circulate through these hoses while you fill the solution material.
** Use a strainer at the pump stack when circulating any solution.**

Storage and Handling

Store in a dry place, keep container closed when not in use. Avoid contact with skin. Wash with large quantities of water.
In case of contact with eyes, treat with large volumes of water and see a physician.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact rinse with plenty of water. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ensure that the working area is well ventilated.
Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well-ventilated area.
