Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III

Dispersants are chemicals that are applied directly to an oil slick. The key components of chemicals dispersants are surface active agents called Surfactants. Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III assists with breaking up the slick into small droplets ranging in size a few micrometers to few millimetres.
Chemical dispersants can do this because they contain molecules that are both water compatible and oil compatible. The molecules align themselves around the oil droplets break away from the slick. The Action prevents the coalescence (reforming or joining) of oil droplets. So, the oil can no longer form slick on water surface, and it reduces the adherence of the oil to solid particles ( sand ) and hard surfaces ( sea walls & boat hulls )Chemical dispersants remove the oil from the surface of the water and into the water column. Once in the water column, the oil is diluted to less harmful levels, and eventually is used as a food by bacteria. By removing the oil from the water surface, birds, marine mammals and sensitive coast is protected.

Common Name

Oil Spill Dispersant, Type-III

Product Code

STAN-CLC060

Features and Benefits

With the break up of the oil into water wetted droplets, the continuity of the fire is disrupted and it also stops any further spread of oil fire. The mixture of Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III and water is non flammable and non hazardous. Stanrose® Seacare OSD is free from Paraffinic Solvents / Polvaromatic and Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Chlorinated Hydrocarbons, Heavy Metals, Benzene, Phenols, Caustic Alkali and free Mineral Acid. Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III is duly tested by National Institute of Oceanography ( NIO, Goa ) Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III is Type III Water base dilutable concentrate which is non corrosive, non hydrocarbon, completely bio-degradable and practically non toxic in dilute form and slight toxic in concentrate form. It mixes well in sea and fresh water where maximum efficiency achieved
at 1 : 10 DOR ( Dispersant to Oil Ratio ) in fresh and sea water and in concentrate as well as in dilute form. Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III is more efficient and stable in Diluted form indicating that DILUTION ( in Portable Water ) 1 : 10 ( 1 part of Concentrate & 10 parts of Portable Water ) does not make it less effective & dilutable concentrate increases the effective spraying time, So Stanrose® Seacare OSD-III is highly COST EFFECTIVE.
