  • Stanrose® Dual Purpose, Dual Purpose Plus /Concentrated Combustion Improver

Stanrose® Dual Purpose Stanrose® Dual Purpose is a specially formulated blend of organic dispersing agents, water displacing surfactants and combustion catalysts. This product is designed to meet two objectives: 1. Improve the precombustion characteristics of light and heavy fuels. 2. Introduce combustion catalysts into the combustion zone to improve combustion efficiency and minimize fireside corrosion and deposit problems. Common Name Dual Purpose Plus /Concentrated Combustion Improver Product Code STAN-FOT190 Features and Benefits Stanrose® Dual Purpose reduces fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. Stanrose® Dual Purpose improves the quality of fuel. Stanrose® Dual Purpose removes the existing deposits and keeps the injector nozzles clean. Stanrose® Dual Purpose protects the system from corrosion. Stanrose® Dual Purpose minimizes the Sludge formation. Stanrose® Dual Purpose reduces maintenance costs. Technical Properties Appearance : Dark Brown Liquid Specific Gravity 20°C : 0.87 Flash Point PMCC : Above 66°C / 150°F Viscosity : 60 sec at 400 by Redwood viscometer no. 1 Recommended Uses FUEL CONDITIONER Stanrose® Dual Purpose will reduce sludge and gum formation in tanks, feed lines, oil pre-heaters, strainers and burners. Sludging potential of oil is greatly increased by the presence of water. Stanrose® Dual Purpose contains an emulsion breaker which separates the water from the oil. This separation will also reduce some serious fireside slags. The sodium ion in saltwater if carried into the combustion chamber will reduce the melting point of vanadium forming a molten slag. COMBUSTION CATALYST Stanrose® Dual Purpose contains combustion catalysts which function by providing the fastest possible reaction time of the air fuel mixture assuring that complete combustion is achieved in the shortest time possible. This results in the minimization of soot, fly ash, intermediate combustion products and unburned particulate matter. Stanrose® Dual Purpose will prevent Low Temperature Corrosion by allowing minimum excess air conditions to be approached as a result of improved combustion reactions and by eliminating the catalytic effect that produces sulphur trioxide. Stanrose® Dual Purpose further protects against low temperature corrosion by preventing acidic deposits of particulate matter. By way of review, sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide are normal combustion products when firing fuels containing sulphur. The concentration of sulphur trioxide in the flue gas in relation to sulphur dioxide is dependant on the excess air employed and the presence of vanadium and iron oxide. It has been estimated that 75% of the sulphur trioxide is formed from sulphur dioxide in the combustion area. The reaction occurs as a result of sulphur dioxide combining with nascent oxygen and is aided by the catalytic effect of vanadium and iron oxide. Sulphur trioxide concentration in the flue gas determines the acid dew point. Acid dew point is defined as that temperature at which the water vapour present in the flue gas as a result of combustion can combine with sulphur trioxide to form sulphuric acid. Low temperature corrosion results when the flue gas cools below the acid dew point. This condition is found in pre-heaters, economizers, cold end of boilers and in the stack. This problem is particularly severe when maximum heat recovery from the flue gas is desired. AIR POLLUTION Stanrose® Dual Purpose will reduce air pollution by minimizing the amount of undesirable constituents in stack gases. Burning of fuel containing sulphur will result in the formation of sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide trioxide. The use of Stanrose® Dual Purpose and good combustion controls will retain most of the sulphur in the dioxide from and minimize the formation of the highly undesirable sulphur. Unburned residues and fly ash are also minimized in the stack gas because of the improved combustion reaction. This results in the maintaining of a clean stack and the reduction of undesirable particulate matter. The complete burning of the fuel will also eliminate the unwanted products of partial combustion such as aldehydes and ketones. Method of Application Average dosage rates are one litre per 2 to 4 tons of fuel, Apply directly to tanks when bunkering, normally down the souding tube. If sludge breaking is not a problem in the double bottoms apply directly to day tank or for more accurate control we recommend that Stanrose® Dual Purpose be metered directly into the fuel supply line. The best way is to start on a Diesel Engine, which has just completed overhaul. On such an engine, one can see the difference by checking following and comparing with the period when "Stanrose® Dual Purpose" was not being used. 1. Fuel Oil Filters condition / time between cleaning. 2. Fuel Injectors condition / time between overhauls. 3. Exhaust from the Engine - colour/ Extent. 4. Piston Rings Breakage if any caused due to unburned fuel and heavy carbon deposits. 5. Time between overhaul of Inlet / Exhaust Values. 6. Time between Piston overhaul. 7. Burning of Piston Heads. 8. Corrosion, if any, on components such as liner. 9. Presence of carbon in crank case oil caused by blow past due to sticky /broken Piston Rings. Since, complete combustion means full utilization of the calorific value of the fuel, there is a definite saving in specific Fuel consumption, when above conditions are maintained. Storage and Handling Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact flush with plenty of water. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact rinse with plenty of water. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ensure that the working area is well ventilated. Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well-ventilated area. Packing Available 25 Ltr. / 210 Ltr. Download File

  • Stanrose® PWD Combitreat, Combitreat Powder BWT

Stanrose® PWD Combitreat Stanrose® PWD Combitreat is a dry powder compound containing alkaline mineral salts, sequestering agents, scale and corrosion inhibitors and scale conditioners. Common Name Combitreat Powder BWT Product Code STAN-CLC152 Features and Benefits Complete ‘one-shot’ conditioning treatment for simplified dosing and handling. Boiler kept at peak level efficiency. Heating surfaces maintained at optimum thermal conditions. Promotes protective films to prevent boiler steel corrosion. Dispersant action suspends sludge and sediment particles. Reduced maintenance due to complete conditioning of water and internal boiler surfaces. Technical Properties Appearance - Light brown powder Condition - Free flowing pH - 11 @ 20o C Recommended Uses Suitable for use with all auxiliary boilers; smoke and water tube boilers; steam/steam generators, up to 20 bar pressure Method of Application The main attributes of Stanrose® PWD Combitreat fall into the following categories : Alkalinity control: The correct level of alkalinity ensures that the optimum environment exists for:- Correct precipitation of hardness salts in conjunction with phosphate Neutralisation of acid conditions Avoidance of caustic corrosion Control of magnesium and calcium salts The alkalinity ‘balance’ is extremely important for efficient water treatment. Stanrose® PWD Combitreat provides this whilst avoiding excessive pH levels which could cause embitterment and corrosion of boiler components. Hardness control: Stanrose® PWD Combitreat provides a phosphate reserve to effectively react with and precipitate the hardness salts introduced with the feedwater. The formation of insulating scale on hot metal surfaces is prevented as the scales produced will not adhere and so optimum heat transfer efficiency is maintained. The stable phosphate compounds used in Stanrose® PWD Combitreat will maintain their efficiency throughout the boilers normal operating temperature range. A temporary ‘phosphate hideout’ where low phosphate levels at certain temperatures are experienced, is thus avoided. Sludge Conditioning: Boiler sludge can most easily be removed by blow down if it is free flowing. Stanrose® PWD Combitreat will ensure this by preventing the scales from coalescing to form large crystals or adhering to metal surfaces. The resulting sludge is composed of small particles which are dispersed so that it will flow towards the bottom of the boiler to be removed by blow down. Storage and Handling Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ensure that the working area is well ventilated. Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well-ventilated area. Technical Properties Increase or decrease the recommended dosage according to the chart below : All Boiler Systems Condensate pH form Testing Less than 8.3 Increase Dosage by 25% for 72 8.3 – 9 Satisfactory maintain dosage 9.0 + Decrease dosage by 25% for 72 hour and retest Recommended Uses Requires minimum of testing and control. Can be fed alone or with other treatment chemicals. Does not break down to ammonia which is harmful to copper. Boiling point over 93°C / 204°F’ Method of Application “Stanrose® Control C” is a liquid, volatile alkaline amine which neutralizes the acid contaminants of condensate and feed water systems thus preventing the acid corrosion of system components. The most common cause of acid corrosion in condensate and feed water systems is the dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) being present in the water evaporating. “Stanrose® Control C” neutralizes these acids and maintains the condensate and feed water in an alkaline condition. Dosage : The condensate is tested of pH to determine the dosage level. The minimum pH should be 8.3, the optimum would be between pH 8.3 and 9.0. A typical dosage for an average 10 metric tone system would be 0,5-1 liter per day. Below is a chart with the recommended limits for levels of treatments. They are not intended to replace either shipping company instructions or boiler manufacturer’s policy. “Stanrose® Control C” dosage cannot be calculated as closely as dosages for other treatment chemicals. Table below provides a starting dosage, but the ultimate dosage should be based on the pH actually developed in the condensate. In system starting to use “Stanrose® Control C” for the first time the feed rate should be started at 25% of the external dosage. The dosage can be increased in 25% increments at 3-4 week intervals. This technique will avoid sweeping excessive amounts of old corrosion products dislodged by “Stanrose® Control C” back into the boiler. Storage and Handling Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
