  • Stanrose®Control C, Condensation Control

Stanrose®Control C Product Description : “Stanrose® Control C” is a concentrated liquid neutralizing agent for corrosion control in condensate and feed water systems. Technical Review : Carbon dioxide enters the condensate system in two ways :- (a) As a dissolved gas. (b) As a decomposition product of soluble carbonates and bicarbonates , carbon dioxide vaporizes from the boiler and forms carbonic acid when it condenses with the condensate lowering the pH, iron and copper will enter into solution more rapidly as pH decreases causing an increase in corrosion rate. Within the condensate system and deposition of metallic oxides in the boiler “Stanrose® Control C” is quickly volatilised in the boiler and travels with the stream. In this way, it is able to neutralize carbon dioxide at all points through out the system, “Stanrose® Control C” effectively protects condensate areas against grooving or channeling and prevents the frequent failure at threaded points caused by low pH attack. Common Name Condensation Control Product Code STAN-BWT148 Features and Benefits Soluble in all proportions in water. Protects vapour and condensate areas from low pH corrosion. Protects copper and copper base alloys as well as iron and steel. Mild cleaning action, increasing heating efficiencies. Technical Properties Increase or decrease the recommended dosage according to the chart below : All Boiler Systems Condensate pH form Testing Less than 8.3 Increase Dosage by 25% for 72 8.3 – 9 Satisfactory maintain dosage 9.0 + Decrease dosage by 25% for 72 hour and retest Recommended Uses Requires minimum of testing and control. Can be fed alone or with other treatment chemicals. Does not break down to ammonia which is harmful to copper. Boiling point over 93°C / 204°F’ Method of Application “Stanrose® Control C” is a liquid, volatile alkaline amine which neutralizes the acid contaminants of condensate and feed water systems thus preventing the acid corrosion of system components. The most common cause of acid corrosion in condensate and feed water systems is the dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) being present in the water evaporating. “Stanrose® Control C” neutralizes these acids and maintains the condensate and feed water in an alkaline condition. Dosage : The condensate is tested of pH to determine the dosage level. The minimum pH should be 8.3, the optimum would be between pH 8.3 and 9.0. A typical dosage for an average 10 metric tone system would be 0,5-1 liter per day. Below is a chart with the recommended limits for levels of treatments. They are not intended to replace either shipping company instructions or boiler manufacturer’s policy. “Stanrose® Control C” dosage cannot be calculated as closely as dosages for other treatment chemicals. Table below provides a starting dosage, but the ultimate dosage should be based on the pH actually developed in the condensate. In system starting to use “Stanrose® Control C” for the first time the feed rate should be started at 25% of the external dosage. The dosage can be increased in 25% increments at 3-4 week intervals. This technique will avoid sweeping excessive amounts of old corrosion products dislodged by “Stanrose® Control C” back into the boiler. Storage and Handling Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact rinse with plenty of water. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ensure that the working area is well ventilated. Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well-ventilated area. Packing Available 25 Ltr. / 210 Ltr. Download File

  • Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II, Oil Spill Dispersant, Type-II

Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II Dispersants are specially designed oil spill products that are composed of detergent‐like surfactants in low toxicity solvents. Dispersants do not remove oil from the water, but instead break the oil slick into small droplets. These droplets disperse into the water and are further broken down by nature. Dispersants also prevent the oil droplets from coming back together and forming another surface slick. Dispersed oil droplets are less likely to stick to birds and other animals, shoreline rocks, and vegetation. Common Name Oil Spill Dispersant, Type-II Product Code STAN-CLC060 Features and Benefits “Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II” is water based, clear, homogenous & non-flammable liquid. It is completely biodegradable & soluble in fresh & seawater. It is approved as a Type II dispersant according to LR448 specifications by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Technical Properties Colour Light Amber liquid Appearance Clear homogenous free flowing liquid. Cloud Point -7°C S R Gravity 0.95 to 1.05 (typical 1.04) Solubility Soluble in water. Shelf Life 5 Years. Flash Point Non-Flammable Toxicity Non-Toxic Viscosity 132 cSt at room temperature pH Value 6.0 to 8.5 Prohibited Items Does not contain chlorinated hydrocarbons, phenols, cresols, Caustic alkali, or free mineral acids Biodegradability Biodegradable Recommended Uses Dispersants can be applied to oil slicks either by aircraft or by ships with spraying equipment. They are also used by injection below water to break up oil before it reaches the surface. The use of dispersants is restricted under the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). Federal and state agencies have agreements establishing areas where rapid decisions on dispersants may be made by the federal on‐scene coordinators. Areas outside those designated require additional approval of other agencies identified in the NCP. Method of Application CHEMICAL DISPERSANT APPLICATION : “Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II” contains surface-active agents (surfactant) and a stabilizer. The purpose of Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II is quick removal of oil on surface by converting it in fine oil in water emulsion, which is rapidly distributed through the water column through agitation and mixing. Oil dispersed effectively into large volume of seawater is further diluted rapidly by turbulence and its concentration is reduced soon to background levels. The objective of “Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II” is chemical dispersion of Oil spillage an expose of larger area of oil attack by marine bacteria present in sea water than the exposed area of untreated slick. This is achieved when surface oil breaks into droplets by action of Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II which on agitation disposes in to vertical water Column of sea. These droplets are rapidly biodegraded by marine bacteria. Resurfacing of droplets is influenced by droplet size, density of seawater, depth of water column and viscosity of oil being treated. The smaller the droplets size the less chance of oil Resurfacing and more rapid the dilution of droplet and its biodegradation by marine Bacteria and greater its anti cohesive properties. FEEDING & DOSAGE : AERIAL SPRAYING : Aircraft provide the most rapid method of applying dispersants to an oil spill and a variety of aircraft can’ be Used for spraying. For aerial spraying, Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II is used undiluted. A typical treatment rate is 10 to 50 ltrs per Acre or a DOR (dispersant to oil ratio) of 1:50 to 1:20. Normally oil thickness is 100 to 200 microns and it would Spread it to 2 ton of oil per hectare (lhectre=6. lacres). However, this can vary depending on the type of oil, degree of weathering, temperature and thickness of oil slick, typical application attitudes of 30 to 50 feet have been used, although higher altitudes may be effective under certain conditions. Actual effective altitudes will depend on the application equipment, weather and aircraft. Careful selection of spray nozzles is critical to achieve desired dose levels, since droplet size must be controlled. Many nozzles used for agricultural spraying are of low capacity and produce too fine a spray. A quarter-inch open pipe may be all that is necessary if the aircraft travels at i9 (I or more, since the air shear at these speeds will be sufficient to break the dispersant into the proper sized droplets. BOAT SPRAYING : Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II may also be applied by workboats equipped with spray booms mounted ahead of the bow wake or as far forward as possible. The preferred and most effective method of application from a workboat is to use a low-volume, low-pressure pump so the chemical can be applied undiluted. Spray systems, which apply Dispersant neat undiluted, are preferable. However, if this is not practical, water dilatable systems which provide a 10% dispersant concentration should be used. Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II is formulated to be diluted with seawater if Necessary during application, since the product is active at very low dosage. The mixture of dispersant and seawater is then discharged through booms having several nozzles. Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II should be applied as droplets, not atomized, Natural wave or boat wake action usually provides Adequate mixing energy to disperse the oil. It can be seen from the above that Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II serves as both TYPES and TYPE 2 oil spill dispersant. As a guideline one (1)ltr of Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II is capable of dispersing atleast 30 ltrs of heavy petroleum oil. Our product Stanrose® Seacare OSD-II composition meets the criteria for not being harmful to the marine environment according to MARPOL Annex V and may be discharged into the sea when used to clean oil on sea water surface. • Stanrose® Biocide, Biocide & Algaecide

Stanrose® Biocide “Stanrose® Biocide” is a liquid, pumpable algicide dispersion for water-based technical products. Due to the very low water solubility it is especially recommended for coating exposed to severe weathering. “Stanrose® Biocide” controls algal growth on paints and plasters on the exterior of buildings and so enhancing their aesthetic appearance. Common Name Biocide & Algaecide Product Code STAN-BWT154 Features and Benefits Miscibility/Solubility - Miscible with water. Virtually insoluble in water and organic solvents. Stability - The activity of the active ingredient is not changed by short-term temperature stress during processing at up to 100°C or in the pH-range of 4-10. Technical Properties These values do not constitute specifications Appearance - flowable, white to yellowish-greyish dispersion Density - 20oC 0.97 to 1.07 g/cm3 Viscosity η 20°C - 60 to 90 KU Particle size - 0 to 30 mm Recommended Uses “Stanrose® Biocide” is based on an active substance which is practically water insoluble. “Stanrose® Biocide” can therefore be used in appropriate paint formulations and coatings where it is exposed to weathering and periodically damp conditions. In addition to the inherent effectiveness of “Stanrose® Biocide” other factors are necessary for long term performance, e.g., formulation of the ready for use product and optimum dosage are also necessary. In extreme cases where, for example, faults in construction technology lead to the permanent wetting of particular areas, successful application of microbicidal paint can only be effective after the construction faults have been rectified. If on a coated surface, moulds or fungi are anticipated in addition to algae, the paint or plaster in question must be treated additionally with a suitable fungicide. “Stanrose® Biocide” is only an algicide. Therefore, it can replace neither an in-can preservative nor a fungicide. “Stanrose® Biocide” must be blended homogeneously with the product to be protected. It is recommended to add “Stanrose® Biocide” at the beginning of manufacturing processes. Method of Application Dosage : The optimum dosage necessary of a microbicide depends largely upon the contamination risk, the exposure conditions and the general susceptibility of the coating (paint or plaster) to microbial growth. For that reason, the concentration ranges listed below should be taken as general guidance only: Paints 0.2 - 1.0% Plasters 0.1 - 0.3% In case of intense exposure to weather, if condensed water is formed continuously or if the coats of paints or plasters get dirty very easily, the dosage of “Stanrose® Biocide” may have to be increased above the usual level. It is recommended to check planned dosages in laboratory experiments and if possible in practical experiments as well. Storage and Handling Please refer to the safety data sheet of this product for precise handling instructions. The processing and use of industrial chemicals require adequate technical and professional knowledge. In general, avoid eye and skin contact, wear safety goggles, gloves and protective clothing. In case of eye or skin contact despite precautionary measures, wash immediately and thoroughly with plenty of warm water and obtain medical attention. The legal requirements prevailing in your country, especially on working hygiene and in the avoidance of accidents, must be observed. “Stanrose® Biocide” should be stored in the closed original container. Protect from heat. Any supplies which do freeze must be homogeneously mixed after thawing before they can be used, no loss in effectiveness will be experienced. Storage for a longer period of time can lead to an increase of viscosity. Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use. Packing Available 25 Ltr. / 210 Ltr.
